What is Montessori?
The Montessori method is an approach to education based on scientific observation, and of an understanding of child development along with self-initiated activity. Dr. Montessori advocated for the importance of the prepared adult and prepared environment, as the two were necessary in the child’s optimal development and success, following natural desires and needs. She believed that education needed to be equipped with adults that are able to be at the “service of life,” following the child in all aspects of development, aiding and not inhibiting the human’s defined trajectory of growth.
Dr. Maria Montessori discovered the powerful learning potential of young children through observation. Her philosophy of education, with children as its center, is currently implemented and practiced world wide.
Why Montessori?
A child’s environment from the start is the most important environment for development. Not only the physical environment, but the psychological environment as well- both are necessary in providing the best path to a bright future, towards a fully actualized and successful individual. Science has proven that the growth of the human brain is at its most crucial before the age of 3.
Dr. Maria Montessori discovered this through her work with young children and used this knowledge to create her method of education, the method that is now followed all over the world. Preparing the proper environment, both physical and psychological, with the necessary tools for optimal development, is one of the most precious gifts a child can receive.
Montessori is a way to this gift. Montessori is the path to growing as a caregiver in ways that will allow you to grow as the provider for your child, in the most natural and effective way
Why Star Path Montessori?
I’m Clarissa: mom and Montessori certified guide for children aged birth to 6 years, in the early education field for over 20 years.
I help families create stronger bonds with their child(ren) through online consulting, structured as a community that meets weekly and learns perceptive parenting by gaining knowledge of natural child development, the science of human growth and the effectiveness of implementing Montessori key principles within the home, but most importantly, within the adults who set the stage for the child’s path forward to optimal success.
Along with online consulting, I offer webinars, workshops and a gathering space for learning and growing together, as parenting should be.
